How to draw realistic Lips

STEP 1: In this step, we have to draw the basic sketch outline for the lips so we know where to establish the shadows and highlights. All you need is just an outline to prepare for all your shading detailing. I recommend to use a regular 2H pencil for the guides. Remind yourself to NEVER PRESS HARD with this pencil since it leaves behind unwanted invisible marks when you draw over it with a darker shade.

STEP 2: 

Then, we will start adding in extra details before we start to do the initial shading work. The large whites you see are the highlights which you must avoid shading on.

STEP 3:

 Next, we can start the shading! This can be a tedious procedure since shading can require lots of time and patience. Take your time and add only the first base layer of shades.Darkened the darkest spots in as well, like the inside of the mouth.

STEP 4:

 We'll go ahead and darkened the shadows that was seen in my reference picture. Add layers of more shadows as you work, lightly adding subtle lines in the lips. By adding very dark lines of lip wrinkles, you'll create old and dry looking lips, which is a big 'no no'.

STEP 5:

 Lastly, using tissues, keep adding shades and smudging, to create a darker and rich texture for the lips. It may take you a while to achieve real looking textures since graphites really depend on the way you use them. I hope you folks have enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did. How draw realistic Nose

Step 1: Sketch a rough shape of the nose. I chose a straight Caucasian nose.



Step 2: Darken the sketchy lines with small strokes to provide a guideline for later. Make sure to do this faintly as you don't want clearly defined lines yet.



Step 3: Fill both sides of the nose with small strokes to bring out a three dimensional feel. Leave the center of the bridge and bulb of the nose tip untouched. Pencil in the outline of the nostrils.



Step 4: Focus on the sides of the tip. It usually draws inwards which means it is darker than the rest of the bridge.



Step 5: Continue darkening using the guidelines you made above. Shade the area around the nostrils to give the impression of shadowing.



Step 6: Shade more if you wish until you are left with a desired effect. If needed, use an eraser to highlight the top of the nose bridge as well as the tip. Fix up the nostrils.

How to draw an Eye

Step 1: Sketch a rough circle for the iris and whatever eye shape you prefer. Eye widths and lengths vary person to person so adjust accordingly. Make sure you don't forget to include the caruncula lacrimalis (the fleshy pink area next to your tear ducts). I chose a standard Caucasian eye.



Step 2: Draw the pupil in the middle of the circle. Pupils enlarge and shrink depending on light but it is a commonly known artistic concept that larger pupils seem friendlier and will tend to make the viewer like the character whereas small pupils radiate meanness and will tend to cause the viewer to dislike the character. Erase the top of the circle which is not included in the eye and draw in the upper eyelid. Once again, eyelids vary so adjust accordingly. Outline the caruncula lacrimalis and lower eyelid.



Step 3: Lightly shade the areas around the upper eyelid, eye, iris and fill in the pupil. Mark out the area of reflection on the iris.



Step 4: Layer on the shading with your lightly shaded guideline from Step 3. The eye is a bit like the surface of the globe. Enhance the lower eyelid to prepare for light reflection on the waterline.



Step 5: Continue shading and darkening until you are satisfied. Remember, the the light reflection on the iris, immediate area around the iris and the skin on the inner corner to the middle of the eye typically catch light so do not shade in those areas. You can stop here if you want. I find that eyelashless eyes can be very striking and poignant.



Step 6: Darken and enhance more if you wish until it looks as three-dimensional as you like. Sketch in the eyelashes. Remember, the eyelashes are typically curled so do not draw them in a straight line.
